Dear Wadehra Bhai, You have done 79ers proud. While congratulating you on this occasion let me say that by tagging ourselves (79ers)with you as a fellow 79er, we too have become "smart scholars". Smart way of snatching some credit you say?

The National Food Security Act

re being implemented clearly there is scope for significant improvements in such areas as identification of beneficiaries, selection of activities with consideration to the ability of beneficiaries, upgrading of skills, administrative functioning, credit delivery system, infrastructural facilities and the level of people's participation in the effective implementation of poverty alleviation programs. Moreover, there is need to improve the spread and quality of educational facilities, and concentrate on minor irrigation projects as well as soil and water conservation.

Coming back to the proposed National Food Security Act, Haryana’s successful attempts at establishing e-governance in recent years should come in handy while implementing the various provisions of the legislation. Haryana’s administrative machinery should be able to successfully meet the challenge of making the PDS work smoothly and ensure that the benefits reach to the deserving sections of the populace.
